SEGA fans, get ready to return to Kamurocho — this time on Nintendo’s next-generation console. The official file sizes for Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 on the Nintendo Switch 2 have been revealed, giving players a clear idea of how much storage space they’ll need before launch.
According to new listings on the Switch 2 eShop, Yakuza Kiwami will take up 20.2 GB, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 weighs in at 28.1 GB. That’s nearly 50 GB of total space if you plan to grab both titles digitally — a hefty chunk for those using smaller microSD cards.
The sizes suggest that SEGA’s remasters won’t just be simple ports. Given the Switch 2’s more powerful hardware, fans can likely expect enhanced visuals, faster loading times, and smoother gameplay across both titles. Kiwami 2, which runs on SEGA’s Dragon Engine, is especially known for its detailed city environments and cinematic combat sequences — features that may benefit from the console’s upgraded performance.
For comparison, the original Yakuza Kiwami release on the first Switch clocked in around 22.9 GB, making this new version slightly more efficient but still substantial. Kiwami 2’s larger footprint isn’t surprising, considering the Dragon Engine’s visual complexity and the inclusion of additional side content.
Both Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13, 2025, bringing Kazuma Kiryu’s early adventures to Nintendo’s audience for the first time in enhanced form.
With deep storytelling, brutal street combat, and the signature humor the series is known for, these titles mark another big win for SEGA’s ongoing expansion of the Yakuza (or Like a Dragon) franchise.
So if you’re planning to dive into the neon-soaked streets of Kamurocho once more, make sure you’ve cleared out some space — these two remakes are ready to make a strong first impression on Switch 2.
