The Outer Worlds 2 Update 1.0.4.1 Brings TSR Upscaling to PS5 Pro and Fixes Dozens of Bugs

Obsidian swaps Sony’s PSSR for its own Temporal Super Resolution while squashing key progression and stability issues.

Obsidian Entertainment has dropped a new update for The Outer Worlds 2, patch 1.0.4.1, targeting a mix of visual upgrades and long-awaited stability fixes. Chief among the improvements is the introduction of TSR (Temporal Super Resolution) upscaling for PS5 Pro, replacing the previous PSSR method that players criticized for blurring fine details and introducing flickering artifacts.

This change promises a cleaner, more consistent presentation—particularly in areas like Paradise Island, where grass and lighting previously showed heavy noise. The patch also tackles several high-impact bugs, from crashes tied to corrupted save data to quest blockers preventing story progression.

Below, you’ll find the full list of changes and fixes included in this update.
