Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 Drops December 16

Capcom has officially confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 4 arrives on December 16, 2025 — and it’s one of the biggest updates the game has received so far. Headlining the patch is the return of the fan-favorite Elder Dragon Gogmazios, alongside a brand-new Gogma Artian weapon line, fresh armor sets, new difficulty tiers, event quests, and major endgame refinements.

For longtime hunters, this update marks a nostalgic yet modernized comeback of one of the series’ deadliest siege-class monsters — and for newcomers, it’s a high-stakes challenge designed to push builds and teamwork to the absolute limit.

Gogmazios Returns With a Reworked Fight for Wilds

Originally introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Gogmazios is known for its massive frame, tar-coated scales, explosive glands, and arena-melting super moves.
Capcom confirms the Wilds version is fully redesigned, featuring:

  • New aerial siege mechanics
  • Tar ignition phases with environmental hazards
  • A revamped multi-stage enrage system
  • Co-op mechanics encouraging coordinated weapon roles

Players will face Gogmazios in a new Elder Lair variant designed exclusively for endgame hunters.

Gogma Artian Weapon Line Brings High-Risk, High-Reward Damage

Title Update 4 adds the powerful Gogma Artian weapon tree, featuring:

  • High raw damage scaling
  • Explosion synergy with tar-based monster attacks
  • Unique awakened states that trigger on perfect guards, parries, or dodges
  • Distinct visual FX inspired by burning tar and molten metal

These weapons are clearly designed with advanced hunters in mind — rewarding mastery and punishing mistakes.

New Armor, Skills & Endgame Balance Pass

In addition to weapons, the update also includes:

🔥 Gogmazios Armor Set

  • New set bonus focused on explosive affinity
  • Tar-resistance mechanics
  • High defensive scaling suitable for endgame hunts

🔥 Endgame Adjustments

  • Monster AI tuning for high-rank anomalies
  • Carve and material drop rate updates
  • QoL improvements for matchmaking and event rotation
  • Optimized performance for large-scale multiplayer hunts

New Event Quests + Seasonal Hunts

Capcom is also rolling out new themed hunts that rotate weekly, offering cosmetic rewards, pose sets, banners, and rare upgrade materials. Some quests will even feature hybrid objectives designed to match Wilds’ new terrain-shift systems.

A Major Win for the Community

Title Update 4 continues Capcom’s commitment to large-scale post-launch support. The return of Gogmazios was one of the most requested features from veteran fans — and pairing it with new endgame mechanics ensures Wilds stays fresh deep into 2026.

With its combination of nostalgia, challenge, and powerful gear upgrades, this update is shaping up to be one of the most impactful patches since the game launched.
